Terms of sale, privacy, and how we handle your information.
This page is a skeleton, not a finished legal document. Every section below marked [CONFIRM] contains a placeholder you must replace with your real details before this site takes a single order.
A privacy policy and terms of sale are legally required in most jurisdictions once you collect customer data or take payment. Publishing incorrect ones is worse than publishing none — they bind you to terms you may not be able to honour.
Shopify provides free policy generators under Settings → Policies that pre-fill for your jurisdiction. Use those as your base, or have a lawyer review this. I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.
Most consumer-protection regimes require a trader to display identifying details before purchase. Fill these in:
[CONFIRM][CONFIRM][CONFIRM][CONFIRM — a branded domain address looks more credible at this price point][CONFIRM]All brand names, trade marks and product names referenced on this site are the property of their respective owners. CAVARI is an independent retailer. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or an official partner of any of the brands whose products we sell.
Products are sourced through authorised European distribution channels. Brand names are used descriptively, to identify the goods offered for sale.
Practical note: referring to a brand by name to describe what you are selling is generally permitted. Reproducing a brand's logo, using its imagery in your advertising, or implying an official relationship is not. Keep brand names as plain text and never add their logos to your site or social posts.
Prices are displayed in [CONFIRM — currency]. Prices [CONFIRM — include / exclude] VAT.
Import duties and taxes charged on arrival in your country are not included and are payable by the recipient. See Delivery & Returns.
If you sell to consumers in the EU or UK, displayed prices must be the total the consumer pays, inclusive of applicable VAT. Confirm your obligations before launch.
Consumers in some jurisdictions have a statutory right to cancel a distance purchase within a set period, regardless of a seller's own returns policy. Where such a right applies to you, it operates in addition to and is not limited by our returns policy.
To exercise it, contact cavaristoreall@gmail.com stating your order number and that you wish to cancel.
Important for you, not the customer: in the EU and UK, consumers have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period from delivery to cancel for any reason. Your supplier also allows 14 days from delivery. Those two windows are the same length, which leaves you no buffer at all — if a customer cancels on day 13, you have effectively no time to lodge the return with your supplier. Confirm with them how quickly you must notify, and treat every return request as same-day urgent.
We collect the information needed to process your order and, if you sign up, to send you email updates.
[CONFIRM — name each one][CONFIRM]If you sell to EU or UK customers, GDPR applies to you regardless of where you are based. South African sellers are additionally subject to POPIA. Both require a genuine, specific privacy notice — not a generic one.
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to function, and [CONFIRM] analytics cookies to understand how the site is used.
If you add analytics or advertising pixels — Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, TikTok Pixel — you need a consent banner before they load for EU and UK visitors. Shopify has free apps for this. Add the banner before you add the pixel, not after.
